Balancing Work and Home Life
Achieving a balance between the work place and home is difficult for many in the American society. Workweeks are usually long and in many families both parents are employed. How do working adults find time to enjoy life? There are multiple methods to achieve this goal. We will examine a few here…
Further Your Education
Education is most important element to the balancing equation. Only those
with the power of choice are able to make decisions that will benefit after
work life. If you have little or no education, it becomes difficult to leave
a place of employment and very important to maintain the status quo for the
simple fact of not having other opportunities. On the other hand, highly
qualified and educated individuals are able to more freely choose their
place of employment. I will use myself as an example. A teacher with
experience, credentials, and a good attitude can serve in nearly any city
with a demand for that position. So, how do you become more educated when
working full-time? Yes, there are options...
How To Go To College While Working Full-Time
When I was getting my teaching credential, I was working full-time as a
teacher on an emergency credential. Traditional state colleges and
universities usually do not allow students to work full-time while trying to
go to school full-time. However, universities like National, Chapman, and
others cater to those in the work force. Personally, I chose National
University for multiple reasons. The reasons for choosing National include
online classes, great academic scheduling, and more! The best part is that
I was able to take 1 class each month. In other words, I completed an
entire semester worth of work in 1 month. Therefore, in 12 months, I was
able to complete the entire program. In a tradition college, the program is
two years long without working. Therefore, by getting an education,
individuals have more choice in where and for whom they work.
